New Pastoral Administrator:

Fr. Nicholas Kostyk will be arriving in Tucson in the first week of September,.  He will assume the position of administrator of St. Michael’s on Sunday, September 5th. Fr. Andriy Chirovsky will do his best to be present, to introduce Fr. Nicholas to you and to hand over administration of St. Michael’s to him.

Fr. Kostyk is of Ukrainian descent on his father’s side. He knows enough Ukrainian to celebrate the Divine Liturgy, and has a great desire to improve his knowledge of conversational Ukrainian. To this end, Bishop Benedict will be sending Fr. Nicholas to Ukraine after a few months in Tucson. Who will replace him at that point has not been determined as of yet.

Come, Let us Worship!

The name Michael is from the Hebrew and means "Who is like God?" St. Michael is an Archangel and the leader of the heavenly hosts. He is a mighty protector, and many of our parishioners can attest to his protection.

St. Michael Ukrainian Greco-Catholic Church, Tucson, AZ

In the tenth century the emissaries of  Volodymyr the Great, ruler of Kyivan Rus', searched the world for a new faith for his people.  When they returned from Constantinople, they related to him that they had encountered God in the beauty of the Christian worship there. That figured into his decision to choose Christianity in its Byzantine form.  He and his people were baptized in the year 988 AD.  We aim to worship in just such a beautiful, reverent yet dynamic way. Everyone is welcome. Please join us.  Вітаємо всіх гостей! По Службі Божій залишіться в нас на обід!
